I can't stop thinking about The Specials, about how I really must buy their first two albums, and about how I just cannot get "Gangsters" out of my head.
The reason for this puzzles me. After all, I had no idea (until last week) that earlier this year Terry Hall had been talking about the original line-up reforming, or that various members have been appearing at the summer festivals in one form or another. After a while I have started to think that the answer lies with semi-subliminal advertising, presumably made in association with The Specials' management team. Their music seems to be popping up in the background of adverts all over the shop, although if I'm honest the only one I can be sure about is a modified version of "A Message To You, Rudy" parping away in a recent Walkers crisps ad.
Am I going mad, or does anyone else have various Specials songs bouncing around their heads at the moment?
